Karma Yoga is the Yoga of work, deed or any action. It is more of a spiritual offering than a ‘call for a favor’ in return. Karma can be a conscious effort while Karma Yoga is a selfless act. What we are thinking (whether good or bad), how we are behaving towards others, whatever you are doing is a part of Karma. It will all come back to you in some form or the other.

“The right is to work only but never with its fruits,

let not the fruits of action be thy motive, nor let thy attachment be to inaction.

As the ignorant man act from attachment to action, so should the wise act without attachment, wishing the welfare of the world.”

Bhagavad Gita

Karma Yoga or Bhakti Yoga is an ancient concept from the Vedic Hindu texts, and it means a path of ‘action’. The essence of this Yoga lies in the concept of not looking forward to any barter outcome and erasing any selfish interests from its roots. The goal of Yoga is to act with focus and concentration without being attached to the fruits of the needs. Service or Seva is the basic deed which humans do, to attract good fortune, and manifesting a positive art of living. To perform without any motive means to purify one’s mind and cleanse the impurities from your life.

Good Karma leads to an increased sense of gratitude and kindness; it also creates a feeling of contentment within the heart of the individuals. Refine your spiritual path, practice and accept the wisdom of dharma- life’s duty by subliming your ego and elevating your spirits.

“When you make service your sole purpose in life, it eliminates fear, focuses your mind and gives you meaning.”

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

If you volunteer your effort and time for the betterment or to help others in need, then it adds to your Karma. So, develop the right mindset, and reform your way of functioning, nurture the practices of sadhana to encourage the spiritual cleansing of the soul. If you perform any activity with an ample amount of joy, that is Karma Yoga.

Few steps to activate pure consciousness in the field of Karma Yoga:

  • One must let go of expectations.
  • The intention should be reflected in the smallest of actions.
  • Reciprocate the lifestyle of a yogi and be kind to the world.
  • Detach from emotions to act more wisely, and to prevail equally.
  • Inheritance of selfless actions.

Meditation, deep-breathing Pranayama practices, the alignment and adjustment techniques in Yoga, or practicing the yoga postures consistently creates a medium within you to carefully emit the energy of the universe. Getting engaged in such activities opens the blocked channels in the body, and oils the chakras, so that they can channelize the energy flow to your body and mind. Yoga helps in the overall development of an individual, the personal growth as you become wise by balancing the inner-power and wisdom.

“There is a natural law of Karma that vindictive people, who go out of their way to hurt others, will end up broke and alone.”

Sylvester Stallone

The phrase; “actions speak louder than words” is not a made-up statement. So, doing good will only attract respect and love while the opposite actions may snatch your luck away, if not today then surely someday. So, let your Karma, your deeds do the talking because dharma is to perform, not to expect anything in return. This action describes the human character, the grace, and gentleness at its best form.

On the other hand, if you do something out of total disinterest or without a fulfilling heart, it breaks the karmic structure to a great extent. If the action makes you feel liberated, then you are attracting the positive aspects of life unknowingly. Karma Yoga takes its form when you are effortlessly doing any work or deed, and also how you perform the activity. This is what makes the difference in the transformative lives of the people!

“I try to live with the idea that Karma is a very real thing.

So, I put out what I want to get back.”

Megan Fox

Living a blissful life depends on your acts and not the reactions of the people. It’s easy to live a life on your terms by not caring about the judgments of the people as long as you are doing the right thing, and not hurting others intentionally. Do not care about how people treat you, care about how you react because that is your Karma.

Power of Karma is immeasurable, as the world can change with the simple acts of Karma!
