In the 95 Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training Course, the Yoga Philosophy module presents yoga as a deep and enthralling subject for children. You'll discover how to teach yoga meaningfully, looking beyond asana —beyond the postures — to children's heart of hearts: nature, kindness, and happiness.
You’ll learn how ancient sages lived close to nature, in the forests, caves, mountains, and jungle. Their observations of trees, animals, and birds, and their study of these things in nature, gave us many new yoga postures (asanas) and philosophies.
This module presents the eight limbs of yoga simply to children, as well as ideas such as Yama, Niyama, and Swadhyaya, through stories and activities, demonstrating values like honesty, thankfulness, and insight "into ourselves" (self-awareness, subjective or reflective experience, contemplation).
And regarding those benefits, you’ll also learn how to explain to kids the rewards of yoga: flexibility, strength, peace, and joy. Make clear to them that happiness is something innate.
By using prayers, mindfulness, and gentle contemplation, we explore new methods to help the inherent wisdom in each child develop.
