Asana Adjustment and Alignment Training

This 100-hour training program prepares students to effectively adjust and align students in various yoga asanas, promoting safe and beneficial practice.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the principles of asana adjustment and alignment
  • Develop skills in hands-on adjustments for various asana families
  • Apply alignment principles to promote safe and beneficial practice
  • Refine teaching skills through practice teaching and feedback

Module 1: Foundations of Asana Adjustment and Alignment (10 hours)

  • Overview of asana adjustment and alignment
  • Principles of alignment and adjustment
  • Understanding body mechanics and anatomy

Module 2: Understanding the Asana Families (20 hours)

  • Standing poses (uttihista sthiti)
  • Seated poses (asana)
  • Forward bends (paschimottanasana)
  • Backbends (urdhva dhanurasana)
  • Twists (bharadvajasana)
  • Balancing poses (utthita sthiti)
  • Inversions (viparita karani)

Module 3: Adjustment Techniques (30 hours)

  • Hands-on adjustments for standing poses
  • Hands-on adjustments for seated poses
  • Hands-on adjustments for forward bends
  • Hands-on adjustments for backbends
  • Hands-on adjustments for twists
