Ayurveda basically focuses on healing, prevention and health care. It follows a scientific and spiritualistic concept that makes the subject appealing.

It offers customized and rational methods of cooking as per the individual needs which are based on the respective body structures.


At our yoga school , cooking classes are conducted by our experienced teacher Deepa Negi Mira and other cooking staff. Have fun while you learn during these cooking lessons through our simple and easy-to-understand step-by-step process . Before starting our cooking lessons , we like making them more informative by giving a brief description of the item that is going to be prepared . We also inform our learners about the ingredients that we would be using in our recipe , their beneficial properties and how to blend them in the right proportion to get the perfect taste . We also prepare recipes based on the choices and interests of our students.

Our cooking classes enable our students to learn vegan recipes that are a good substitute for non-vegetarian meals . We have been appreciated by our students for providing such recipes which they have enjoyed thoroughly and even forgotten about their routine non-vegetarian diet which they had been habituated for years!

At our yoga school, our vegan recipes that you can learn include :

  • Khichdi : a simple but tasty dish made from dal(lentils), rice , vegetables mixed in salt , turmeric and ghee(Indian butter). This is a balanced , easy to make meal that is good for digestion and at the same time nutritious.
  • Dal : Rich in protein, dal is an Indian gravy made from lentils and acts as an excellent supplement to be taken along with rice and rotis(Indian pitta bread). It makes your plate of rice more interesting and palatable.
  • Aloo Matar:: This is a vegetable dish made from potatoes and green peas mixed with spices and is a healthy curry item that can be regularly consumed .
  • Tofu : This is prepared from soya milk and contains the goodness of soya proteins which are low in fat and a good dairy substitute, perfect for vegans.
  • Rice Pulao : An Indian fried rice made from a mixture of rice, vegetables , salt and ghee and other spices to delight your taste buds.
  • Paratha : An Indian fried pitta bread stuffing made of wheat mixed in oil and served with vegetable curry and chutney (Indian sauce)
  • Palak Paneer : A combination of mashed green spinach (palak)and cottage cheese (paneer) fried and sauted in light oil along with some spices.
  • Besan Cheela : Made from besan, onion, green chillies, tomatoes and Indian spices – A gluten free vegan omlette that you can enjoy.
