Childbirth is a life-changing moment in a woman's life. Women go through lots of physiological and anatomical changes all throughout pregnancy and afterwards. What is Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga?

Imagine a yoga practice that gently holds you through one of life's most transformative journeys. Prenatal yoga is exactly that. It is a beautiful adaptation of traditional yoga. But it is built more specifically to support would-be mothers through each trimester. It gives you comfort, strength, and peace as your body changes and prepares for birth.

Postnatal yoga then steps in. It offers a nurturing space to heal, regain strength, and reconnect with your body after delivery. It supports your body and mind in the tender early months of motherhood. It helps you navigate the changes you have seen in your body and those that are yet to come.

Monika Singh at Rishikul Yogshala

Monika Singh

Lead Teacher in Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Anatomy, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Mantra, Mudra, Yoga for Kids, Therapeutic applications of Yoga

Monika's path to yoga was not linear and that is precisely what makes her teaching so grounded. After years in the corporate world at IBM, she traded corporate life for ashram life. She spent over a decade immersed in the rigorous training at Bihar School of Yoga. That combination of practical experience and traditional discipline shapes everything she brings to the mat. Whether she is guiding students about the subtle practice of pranayama or adjusting a posture, there is an attention to detail that comes from years of practice. She does not just teach techniques. She teaches why they matter. She draws on her deep knowledge of yoga anatomy and the classical Hatha tradition in every class.

Her work with prenatal and postnatal students reveals another dimension of her expertise. Monika understands the female body through the lens of yoga. As an experienced Pre and Post Natal Yoga Teacher, she specializes in working with the female pelvic floor, using yoga as birth preparation and helping to deal with different complications. She also teaches techniques for breath awareness, which can strengthen and relax your body and soothe your mind during the birth process. You will also explore visualization and relaxation techniques that can further assist you during childbirth and Post-Partum Depression.

As a lead pranayama teacher, Monika guides students through practices that go beyond simple breathwork. She teaches how to tap into what yogic tradition calls the life force or "prana". Her classes incorporate Mantra, Mudra, and Yoga Nidra all together. This is necessary to draw a complete picture of what classical yoga actually looks like in practice.

Monika has taught across multiple locations with Rishikul Yogshala Worldwide, including being a lead teacher in Rishikesh. She continues to share her knowledge where it is needed the most. Her teaching carries the weight of genuine experience, the kind that only comes from years of dedicated practice and service. You could be exploring yoga for the first time or deepening an existing practice. Monika offers something increasingly rare: traditional yoga delivered with compassion.

Krishna Sharma at Rishikul Yogshala

Krishna Sharma

Lead Teacher in Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Meditation, Kundalini and Therapeutic Applications of Yoga

Born into a traditional spiritual home, Krishna spent over a decade climbing the corporate ladder at Morgan Stanley and Capgemini. He dedicatedly navigated the high-stakes world of finance across the globe. He had the career many aspire to. Yet something fundamental felt incomplete: What is the actual purpose of all this? That question became impossible to ignore. So Krishna did what few have the courage to do - he walked away from it all.

What followed was a complete immersion into spiritual life. He travelled across India - from the foothills of Rishikesh to the reaches of Coimbatore - seeking bhiksha (alms) and living in ashrams. He deep-dived into both spiritual and practical management of an ashram.

His studies took root primarily at two institutions that are known to be epitome of yoga: the Bihar School of Yoga and the famous Isha Yoga Foundation. This combination shapes his teachings of philosophy today. He explains the ancient practices of yoga through modern scientific reasoning. Krishna specializes in Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Meditation, Kundalini and Therapeutic Applications of Yoga. Whether you are complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, his classes are bound to feel like conversations with someone who has actually lived what he is teaching - An Experiential Yoga.

As the former lead teacher at Rishikul Yogshala's Rishikesh location, Krishna has trained countless students and continues to do so even in other locations of Rishikul Yogshala Worldwide on an as-needed basis. What makes Krishna's teaching stand out is his authenticity. He does not sell enlightenment or promise quick transformations. Instead he shares what he has learned from over a decade of dedicated practice and study. He shares the same groundedness and guidance he learnt from his gurus. His approach is refreshingly honest: Yoga as a sincere practice for understanding yourself and your place in the world. Krishna teaches with the clarity of someone who chose this path not because it was easy, but because it was necessary. Connect with your true nature and experience the mystical dimensions of yoga in conversation with Krishna.
