How do YTTC, RYT and E-RYT Differ? 

The very common terms that yoga aspirants always come across are RYT, E-RYT, and YTTC. Many aspiring yogis, most of the aspiring yogis, often think about these terms. Most of us often mistake these terms for different kinds of courses of yoga, but actually, these are the various stages of a yogic voyage.

Understanding RYT 

Now RYT is an abbreviation for Registered Yoga Teacher!! RYT is more like a professional title. In the yoga industry, the yoga teachers who have completed their yoga training can register themselves with the Yoga Alliance. This is how they become RYT or Registered Yoga Teacher. RYT is a registration. To gain it you must have completed the yoga training from a centre which is certified by the Yoga Alliance.

What are the different types of RYT?

1.RYT 200 ( Registered Yoga Teacher 200)

    RYT is one of the most common titles enjoyed by yoga teachers worldwide. It means that when a yoga teacher has completed their 200-hour yoga teacher training from a yoga alliance-registered institution, they can register as RYT 200. 

    What is an RYT 200 capable of?

    • An RYT 200 can teach in yoga classes. 
    • They can organise beginner-level yoga programs. 
    • They can work as yoga gurus in various yoga studios. 
    • They have the eligibility to start their own yoga sessions or studios. 
    • They can also conduct online yoga sessions, mostly for beginner levels. 
    • RYT 200 is the beginning of the yoga teacher’s professional journey. RYT 500. 

    This is an advanced-level title given to an advanced-level yoga teacher. To register as RYT500, one needs to complete 200 hours of a yoga teacher training course or YTTC, and an additional advanced level 300-hour YTTC. When one completes 200 and 300 hours of training, it becomes a total of 500 hours of training! This is an advanced-level training, and after this, one can register as an RYT 500.

    What can an RYT 500 do?

    An advanced level of yoga training can be given by an RYT 500! RYT 500 can teach advanced concepts can be taught by them. RYT 500 can offer therapeutic applications of yoga. RYT 500 can work as senior and advanced-level yoga gurus. They are preferred to teach advanced yoga programs in the industry.

    Understanding E-RYT 

    YTTC

    ERYT stands for Experienced Yoga Teacher in the yoga industry!! When the yoga teachers have completed their professional yoga training and have also gained experience in teaching yoga, they become E-RYT or Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. This title is given to those who have gained yoga teaching experience apart from their professional yoga teacher certification (RYT).  If a person is an E-RYT, then this means that he or she has experience in teaching yoga and has spent years gaining experiential wisdom of yoga. This is a higher professional title. This title is usually offered to experienced yoga gurus in the wellness industry. 

    If we talk about E-RYT, then even in the global and national wellness industry, E-RYTs are preferred. They are preferred to teach advanced-level yoga programs worldwide. One can register as a different E-RYT. One who is a 200 RYT and also has teaching experience is an E-RYT 200!! Similarly, those who have 500 hours of YTTC and are RYT 500 with experience are given the title of E-RYT 500.

But these titles of RYT and E-RYT add additional power to your eligibility to teach as a yoga teacher. These titles give weight to your skill sets in the global wellness industry.  Most of the registered and advanced-level yoga programs prefer RYT and E-RYT yoga teachers to teach in their professional programs.
